FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Lamar men's tennis team saw its two-match winning streak come to an end with a 7-0 loss to No. 43 Arkansas in non-conference action Tuesday.

"It was a good learning experience for us," Lamar coach Scott Shankles said. "Arkansas is definitely a strong team."

The Cardinals (4-5) failed to capture a set on the day against the Razorbacks (13-5). Lamar's Carlos Valdenebro came close to grabbing a one-set lead in his match, but eventually fell to Jovan Parlic by a 7-6 (4), 6-2 count at No. 4 singles.

Lamar returns to action at 10 a.m. Saturday when it hosts Alcorn State in a non-conference match. Admission is free.
