The Lamar University men's tennis team didn't lose a set en route to a 6-0 non-conference victory over visiting Alcorn State on Monday.

Rob Lee won at first singles for Lamar (1-1) with a 6-1, 6-1 decision over Alexander Lidzar.

Denis Ermilov, Carlos Valdenebro, Marton Horvath, Dusan Savkovic and Devin Harley also won at singles for the Cardinals. There was no doubles competition as the result of a long rain delay before the match.

"Despite a long three-hour rain delay, the guys played very well," said first-year Lamar coach Scott Shankles. "We all started strong right from the beginning and never let up. I was very pleased."

The Cardinals return to action when they travel to Tulane on Jan. 30.
