DALLAS, Texas - The Lamar University men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to host Southern Methodist University in a non-conference match Sunday.

The Cardinals (10-6) took two singles matches to three sets. Lamar's Richard Filkuka dropped a 1-6, 6-1, 6-4 decision to Artem Baradach, who is ranked 57th in the nation, at first singles.

Lamar's Marton Horvath lost a hard-fought 6-2, 6-7, 10-7 match to Chris Hooshyar at No. 4 singles.

SMU improved to 10-9.

Lamar returns to action when it competes at UT Arlington in a Southland Conference match at 2 p.m. Monday.
