BEAUMONT, Texas - Diego Snyder improved to 12-3 in singles competition to help the Lamar University men's team post a 5-2 victory over visiting Grambling State in a non-conference match Saturday.

Snyder claimed a 6-1, 6-2 decision over Ryan Charles at No. 4 singles as Lamar (10-5) reached the 10-win plateau for the first time since 1997.

"It's a great accomplishment for our program," Lamar coach Greg Davis said.

Other winners for Lamar in singles play were Richard Filkuka, Robert Lee and Dusan Savkovic.

Lamar returns to action at 1 p.m. Sunday with a non-conference match at SMU.
