BEAUMONT, Texas – It has been a rough first two days of the Ron Wesbrooks as all four teams have suffered injuries to key players during the first 48 hours of the tournament, but none more than host Lamar University. The Cardinals lost two players to illness in the hours before the start of the tournament and a third to injury in the second set but despite that Lamar has managed to record some strong performances in its lone home tournament of the fall season.

Maxwell Lindstedt returns to the court Sunday looking for his second consecutive flight title to the start the 2025-26 season.
Lindstedt went 3-0 in Flight 1, Pool A to advance to Sunday's title match. Lindstedt defeated Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's Josep Zapletal in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, to set up a match Abilene Christian's Tomas Quesada Perez. Lindstedt's second match of the day went the distance but he outlasted Perez, 6-4, 2-6, 10-7, to earn a spot in the title match. Lindstedt will square off against ACU's L. Jose Nakamine who won Pool B with a perfect 3-0 record.
The Cardinals return to action Sunday at 10 a.m. for the final round of action in the Ron Wesbrooks Invitational. Doubles will kick the day off followed by the final round of singles play approximately an hour later.
