BEAUMONT, Texas – Lamar University men's tennis wrapped up the 2025 Ron Wesbrooks Invitational Sunday morning with 15 total wins in singles play, but unfortunately sophomore
Maxwell Lindstedt came up just short in his bid for a second flight title in as many tournaments.
Despite the setback in the Flight 1 championship match, Lamar still picked up key victories from junior
Stefano Chappuis and freshman
Vicente Monge. Chappuis defeated Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's Jules Moucquot, 6-4, 7-5, while Monge made quick work of Abilene Christian's Ford Elizondo, 6-1, 6-3.
It was a tough weekend for the Red and White in doubles competition, but LU managed to bounce back Sunday with a strong performance from the duo of Chappuis and
Lukas Hamacher. The Cardinals' tandem recorded a 6-4 victory over A&M-Corpus Christi's Maxime Salesses and Moucquot to take third place to close out the tournament.
The Cardinals now have two weeks to get ready for the ITA Regional Championships which are being hosted by Texas A&M in College Station.
