Lamar tops Oral Roberts

BEAUMONT, Texas - The Lamar University men's tennis team dominated singles play en route to a 5-2 non-conference victory over Oral Roberts on Thursday.

Lamar won five of the six singles matches, highlighted by wins at the first two singles positions. Lamar's Richard Filkuka was a 6-2, 7-5 winner over Igor Sobolta at first singles, while Rob Lee posted a 6-3, 7-6 (5) decision over Mikhail Trukshanin at second singles.

Denis Ermilov, Marton Horvath and Diego Snyder were also victorious in singles competition for the Cardinals (9-4). Oral Roberts fell to 1-4.

Lamar is at Texas A&M at noon Friday.
