BEAUMONT, Texas -- Richard Filkuka won in straight sets at first singles to power the Lamar University men's tennis team to a 6-1 victory over Prairie View A&M in a non-conference match Thursday.

Filkuka posted a 6-3, 6-1 decision over Nyatoti to set the pace for Lamar (6-2).

Denis Ermilov, Marton Horvath, Diego Snyder and James Thorp also won at singles for the Cardinals, who swept the doubles competition.

Friday's scheduled match vs. Oral Roberts University has been postponed. A new date will be announced soon.
