DALLAS - After a pair of home victories at home last week, the Lamar University men's tennis team headed north to take on No. 46 SMU on Saturday, falling to the Mustangs 6-1 at Turpin Tennis Stadium.
After dropping the doubles point with a pair of close contests at the two and three spots, where LU fell 8-5 in both matches, the two teams turned to singles play for the decision. SMU won five of the six matches to claim the 6-1 win.
Senior Maciej Bogusz picked up the win at No. 2 singles for the Cards, taking down Chris Hooshyar 4-6, 6-4, 10-6 to improve to 3-1 on the year. It is the third straight win for the fourth year player.
The Cardinals will be back in action this afternoon when they take on Prairie View A&M in Prairie View, Texas and will be back at home on Thursday when they host Centenary at 1:30 at the Cardinal Courts.
