Results
The Lamar men's tennis team failed to drop a set in their nine matches in a convincing 7-0 win over Alcorn State at the Cardinal Courts on Friday.
The Cardinals improved to 4-5 and won for the third time in the last four matches.
Lamar got things started with three doubles wins which were highlighted by an 8-2 win at No. 1 by the Cardinals' 25th-ranked duo of Filip Kanczula and Maciej Bogusz. The doubles point was clinched shortly thereafter by Allan Gomes and Mario Janjic at No. 2 with an 8-1 win.
In singles play, Kanczula, Janjic, Diego Snyder, Gomes, Bogusz and Andres Medina won their matches at Nos. 1-6 respectively. Snyder's 6-1, 6-0 win at the third spot gave the Cardinals their fourth point to clinch the match.
The Lamar men and women will welcome back their former players for an Alumni Match on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Cardinal Courts.
