JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – While Lamar University released its official 2026-27 basketball schedule earlier this month there were still two dates remaining at the Scout Jacksonville Classic – a multiple team event in Jacksonville, Fla., in November. The Cardinals were notified Wednesday they would be facing Rice (Nov. 22^nd at 4 p.m. Central) and Robert Morris (Nov. 24 at 5:30 p.m. Central). Big Red will serve as the designated away team against Rice and the home team against Robert Morris.
 
The announcement of the Scout Jacksonville Classic completes the Cardinals' 2026-27 slate which will tip off Monday, Nov. 2^nd against Schreiner. Season tickets for Lamar University home games are on sale now through the LU Ticket Office. Similar to Lamar, the Owls enter the upcoming season looking for a bounce back after last year's 13-18 (.419) campaign that saw them go 7-11 (.389) in American Athletic Conference action. The Owls finished 11^th in the league standings last year.
 
The Colonials were a 20-win team last season coming out of the Horizon League. Robert Morris ended the year 22-11 (.667) overall and finished second in the league – just 2.0 games back of a regular-season title – with a 13-7 (.650) mark.
