BEAUMONT, Texas — A total of six Lamar University men's golfers were named Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Monday.

At least 626 NCAA Division I student-athletes from 202 schools earned the honor.

Lamar tied Delaware and East Carolina for the most All-America Scholar recipients in Division I.

Rory Bennet, Matthew Bramford, Fermin Martinez, David Schneider Jerez, Filip Widepalm and Nathan Woodham were recognized for their achievements.

To be eligible, student-athletes must maintain a stroke average below 76.0, compete in at least 50 percent of their team's rounds and carry a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2.

Schneider led the Cardinals with a 72.0 stroke average across 11 tournaments and 33 rounds. He recorded a team-best 17 rounds at par or better and posted three top 10 finishes.

He carded Lamar's lowest round of the season with a 63 in the second round of the Louisiana Classics. Schneider also posted the Cardinals' best 54-hole score, firing a 206 (70-67-69) to tie for sixth at the Sandestin Collegiate Classic.

His top finish came at the Golden Nugget Invitational, where he tied for fifth with a 54-hole score of 207. Schneider helped lead Lamar to its first regular-season tournament title since 2016 as the Cardinals set a program 54-hole record with an 823, eclipsing the previous mark of 825 set in 2007.

Schneider led the team with a 70.6 stroke average in the fall and a 72.8 average in the spring. He earned Southland Conference Co-Golfer of the Month honors on April 8, the second such award of his career, and was named first-team All-Southland Conference.

In the classroom, Schneider was named to the Southland Conference All-Academic team, Dean's List and President's List.

Woodham earned second-team All-Southland Conference honors after posting the team's second-lowest stroke average at 72.8 over 33 rounds.

He recorded 15 rounds at par or better and carded a season-low 67 in the second round of the Border Olympics.

Woodham also posted a top five finish, tying for fourth at the Border Olympics.

His best 54-hole performance came at the Golden Nugget Invitational, where he fired a 209.

A physics major, Woodham maintained a 3.76 GPA and earned recognition on the Southland Conference All-Academic team, Dean's List and President's List.

Widepalm competed in 33 rounds and recorded a 74.6 stroke average, posting seven rounds at par or better.

His season-low round was a 67 in the second round of the Louisiana Classics. He also carded his best 54-hole score of the season, a 212, at the Golden Nugget Invitational.

Widepalm recorded four top 20 finishes, highlighted by a tie for 15th at the Military City Collegiate.

A computer science major, Widepalm maintained a 4.0 GPA and was named to the Southland Conference All-Academic Team.

Martinez competed in nine events and 25 rounds, recording 1,902 strokes for a 76.0 scoring average. He posted four rounds of par or better.

His best 54-hole score came at the Sandestin Collegiate Classic, where he finished at 213 (72-69-72). He also carded a season-low 69 in the second round.

Martinez recorded his top finish of the season at the All-American Intercollegiate, tying for 25th place.

A finance major, Martinez earned a 3.5 GPA and was named to the Dean's List.

Bennet competed in 20 rounds during the spring season after not appearing in the fall, recording 1,503 strokes for a 75.1 scoring average.

He posted four rounds of par or better, including a season-low 64 in the second round of the Golden Nugget Invitational.

Bennet recorded his best 54-hole score of the season at the Golden Nugget Invitational, finishing at 208 (76-64-68) to tie for eighth and earn his first top 10 finish of the year.

A finance major, Bennet earned a 3.68 GPA and was named to the Dean's List.

Bramford recorded a 73.6 stroke average over 33 rounds.

He posted 13 rounds at par or better while recording one top 10 finish and one top-20 finish during the season.

His best 54-hole performance came at the Golden Nugget Invitational, where he shot a 208 (69-69-70) to tie for eighth place.

A general business major, Bramford maintained a 3.42 GPA and earned a spot on the Dean's List.
