BEAUMONT, Texas — For the fourth consecutive season, the Lamar University men's golf team earned the PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Wednesday.
A record 331 schools across six divisions received the honor while 155 programs earned Presidents Special Recognition for posting a team GPA of 3.5 or higher during the 2025-26 academic year.
Lamar was one of six Texas schools to receive Presidents Special Recognition at the Division I level.
The Cardinals also had six golfers named Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars by the GCAA:

Matthew Bramford,
Fermin Martinez,
David Schneider Jerez,
Filip Widepalm and
Nathan Woodham.
Lamar tied Delaware and East Carolina for the most All-America Scholar selections in Division I with six recipients.
