KERRVILLE, Texas — Lamar University wrapped up the Southland Conference tournament in sixth place Wednesday afternoon at Comanche Trace.
The Cardinals posted a team score of 886 (303-292-291), finishing five strokes behind fifth-place East Texas A&M.
David Schneider Jerez finished one under par after recording three birdies and 14 pars. He carded a bogey-free back nine, highlighted by seven pars and two birdies.
Matthew Bramford closed the tournament at even par.
He notched an eagle on the fourth hole and added eight pars on the front nine, then finished the round with five consecutive pars.
Bramford finished inside the top 15, tying for 13th.
Filip Widepalm turned in an even-par front nine, recording nine straight pars.
Fermin Martinez led the Cardinals with four birdies, all on the front nine, to finish two under par on the front nine.
As a team, LU recorded 10 birdies, one eagle and 60 pars, with seven of the birdies coming on the front nine.
UT Rio Grande Valley claimed the tournament title with a score of 866 (297-281-288), edging Incarnate Word by one stroke.
UIW's Joel Talusen captured individual medalist honors with a total score of 211 (68-67-76), finishing three strokes ahead of Southeastern Louisiana's David Marsh.
