FRISCO, Texas — For the third time this season,
Chris Olivier has been named Southland Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Olivier becomes the first LU pitcher to earn multiple conference pitcher of the week honors since Brooks Caple and Hunter Hesseltine in 2024.
The senior improved to 3-0 after tossing a two-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts over 7.2 innings in Game 2 against McNeese, guiding the Cardinals to a 5-0 victory.
Olivier has been dominant at home, recording double-digit strikeouts in each of his three home starts. In those outings, he has fanned 37 batters while allowing just three hits and no runs.
Nationally, Olivier is tied for eighth in Division I with 44 strikeouts, tied for 10th with a 0.84 ERA, and 14th with a 0.74 WHIP.
In the Southland, he ranks second in ERA, second in innings pitched (32.1), second in strikeouts, first in opposing batting average (.135), and tied for second in wins.
Olivier earned his first weekly honor on Feb. 16 after striking out 14 batters and allowing one hit over 6.2 innings against Oakland.
He claimed his second weekly award following a seven-inning hitless performance with 11 strikeouts in a 1-0 victory over UT Rio Grande Valley.
In addition to his conference honors, Olivier has received national recognition as a Dick Howser Trophy National Player of the Week and 64 Analytics D1 Pitcher of the Week.
He was also named to D1Baseball.com's Weekend Top Performers: Top 100 Pitchers list and Baseball America's Week 1 College Team of the Week.
