BEAUMONT, Texas — This past season, Austin Glaze was part of a historic year for the Cardinals, serving as a student assistant during the 2026 campaign.
Lamar captured its first Southland Conference tournament title since 2010, earning a berth in the NCAA College Station Regional.
Following the season, Glaze earned a promotion to director of operations under first-year head coach Sean Allen.
"Joining Lamar University baseball as director of operations is an incredible opportunity, and I'm proud to be part of such a respective program," Glaze said. "I look forward to helping build upon the rich tradition of success and doing everything I can to support our team on and off the field.
"It is an honor to represent Lamar University, and I am excited for what lies ahead."
Glaze is a 2022 graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School, where he was a two-sport standout in baseball and football as a pitcher / outfielder and quarterback.
He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and management from Lamar in May 2026. Glaze was also named to the President's List, which recognizes students who maintain a 4.0 GPA.
"He cares deeply about Lamar University and has worked extremely hard to earn this opportunity," Allen said about Glaze. "Austin has already made a tremendous impact on our program and has been invaluable in helping me throughout the transition.
"I look forward to seeing him continue to grow and positively impact Lamar baseball."
