SAN ANTONIO, Texas — After a delayed start due to frost, Day 1 of the Military City Collegiate on Monday at TPC San Antonio was suspended due to darkness.
The Lamar University men's golf team was unable to finish the second round.
LU is currently in ninth place with a total score of 595 (302-293).
In the opening round, the Cardinals made 13 birdies, eight coming on the front nine.
Nathan Woodham led the way making four birdies while
David Schneider Jerez and
Fermin Martinez made two each.
Schneider shot even par on the front nine with seven pars and one birdie. He closed out the back nine making five straight pars.
Filip Widepalm, who is playing as an individual, made three birdies.
The Cardinals changed up the tone in the second round, tallying 16 birdies and one eagle so far.
Woodham shot two under (70) as he carded a perfect front nine with two birdies and seven pars. He finished with four birdies and 12 pars in the second round.
Schneider began the second round making three straight birdies. He shot two under on the front nine.
Matthew Bramford also contributed with three birdies.
Martinez made seven pars and one birdie to shoot even par on the front nine.
Widepalm had an eagle on the second hole while he also birdied the fourth and 12th holes.
Middle Tennessee (293-281—574) currently holds a one-stroke lead over second-place Abilene Christian.
Six teams were unable to finish the second round.
Middle Tennessee's Maddox Crowder (71-69—140) sits atop the individual leaderboard with a one-stroke lead over UTSA's Joshua Hong.
