BEAUMONT, Texas -- The Lamar University men's tennis team returns to action Thursday when they travel to Fort Worth, Texas to compete in the ITA Regional Championships hosted by TCU. The Cardinals head to the regional tournament at somewhat of a disadvantage having had their annual open tournament last week rained out. Thursday will be Lamar's first competition since a mid-September trip to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

The ITA Regional Championships is a five-day event that will run through Monday and will host all NCAA Division I schools in the Lone Star State. While the individual-format regional tournament holds major significance, it probably takes on more meaning this year for the Red and White as they will have just one more fall date remaining on the calendar before they begin making preparations for the spring season.

Singles matches are set for a 9:30 a.m. start while doubles competition will follow after.
