CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Lamar University advanced four players to the semifinals of the Corpus Christi Invitational Saturday with junior
Savannah Bijlsma qualifying for her respective flight final.
Bijlsma entered the day coming off a fairly easy – according to the score – opening-round match. Saturday, she faced Lubbock Christian's Hannah Quick and in similar fashion to Friday Biljsma made quick work of her opponent. Bijlsma enters Sunday's final having surrendered just two games in four sets.
Unfortunately, Bijlsma will face an opponent in the final – Sofia Valero – will step on the court with fresher legs. The Lubbock Christian standout received a bye Saturday meaning she only had to win one match to advance to the finals.
The final day of competition is set for a 9 a.m. start.
