BEAUMONT, Texas - Lamar University released its 2025-26 women's basketball schedule Friday morning announced by head coach
Aqua Franklin. This 29-game schedule will include 14 home contests, a Southland Conference record 22 games, and big road tests against a pair of Big XII schools.
Fans will get their first look at the team on Oct. 30th when the Cardinals host East Texas Baptist University for an exhibition game at Neches Arena. The regular season opens up on Nov. 8th with a three-game road trip as LU starts the season in Greeley, Colo., against Northern Colorado. Big Red follows that with a trip across I-70 to Manhattan, Kan., for a meeting with Kansas State (Nov. 10) followed by a trip to Lawrence two days later to face the Kansas Jayhawks in iconic Allen Fieldhouse (Nov. 12).
LU's first home games are against UT-Arlington (Nov. 16) and St. Mary's (TX) (Nov. 19) before traveling to UL-Monroe (Nov. 23) during Thanksgiving. Non-conference play ends on Dec. 17th as Big Red will greet Prairie View A&M at Neches Arena.
LU will have four conference games in December as it will be home against UT Rio Grande Valley (Dec. 2nd) and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Dec. 15th) while heading out to Northwestern State (Dec. 21st) and East Texas A&M (Dec. 31st).
January begins and ends with the Battle of the Border matchups against McNeese. Round one will be in Lake Charles, La., (Jan. 3rd) while round two is at home on Jan. 31st. Between the two dates, the Cardinals will host four games against Houston Christian (Jan. 8), UIW (Jan. 10), ETAMU (Jan. 22), and Stephen F. Austin (Jan. 24). The state of Louisiana will also be home to LU's three road contests as the Cardinals will face New Orleans (Jan. 15th), Nicholls (Jan. 17th) and Southeastern Louisiana (Jan. 29th).
Five of LU's eight February contests are away from Neches. Following a home game with NSU (Feb. 5th), the Cardinals hit the road for three straight meetings against SFA (Feb. 7th), UTRGV (Feb. 12th) and Corpus Christi (Feb. 14th). The month concludes with trips on I-10 to face HCU (February 26th) and UIW (February 28th). Big Red also hosts Nicholls (Feb. 19th) and UNO (Feb. 21st) that month, while the regular season ends at home against SLU on March 2nd.
The SLC tournament will take place from March 9th through the 12th and will be hosted at the Legacy Center at McNeese.
