BEAUMONT, Texas — Lamar University competes at the Southland Conference tournament in Kerrville at Comanche Trace from April 21-23, Monday-Wednesday.
Comanche Trace is a private 27-hole course featuring yardage ranging from 3,128 to 3,541 yards.
The first group is set for an 11 a.m. tee time. LU tees off at 1:15 p.m.
Stephen F. Austin, Francis Marion, Southeastern Louisiana, New Orleans, Incarnate Word, Nicholls, East Texas A&M, Houston Christian, UTRGV and Augusta make up 10 of the 11 teams in the field of competition.
SLC TOURNAMENT
In 2024, LU finished in second place after holding off third place Houston Christian in Kerrville.
Augusta won the tournament for the second straight season.
The Cardinals have won 24 conference titles, the most of any Southland Conference school, with the last one coming in 2012.
LU won 10-straight titles from 1964-1973. It also captured three-straight titles on three occasions (1981-1983, 1985-1987, 2001-2003).
The Cardinals won four titles in a row from 2006-2009 while they have also recorded five-straight top five team finishes since 2019.
LU's last individual champion came in 2012 when M.J. Daffue claimed his second straight title to give the Cards 19 individual titles, the most by any conference program.
Daffue was the first Cardinal to win an individual title since Dawie Van Der Walt in 2007.
LAST TIME OUT
LU finished seventh at The Aggie Invitational last weekend after
David Schneider Jerez recorded the lowest score of the final round, shooting three-under-par (69).
Rory Bennet finished in the top 25, tying for 21st place among nationally ranked competitors.
