BEAUMONT, Texas - Lamar University head women's basketball coach
Aqua Franklin announced Friday that the program has added three signees during the November signing period. Big Red is welcoming E'Niyah Holmes (Muskogee, Okla.), Jordan Pete (San Antonio, Texas), and Kyndall Roberts (Houston, Texas) to the program.
E'Niyah Holmes - 6'0 - G/F - Muskogee, Okla. (Muskogee HS)Â
Holmes hails from Muskogee, Okla., where she is currently a member of the Muskogee High School Roughers, where she plays for her father, Eric Holmes. Last season, she was a student at Madill High School and led the Lady Wildcats to their first-ever appearance in the Oklahoma 4A State Tournament. Holmes was also named the Lake Country Conference Newcomer of the Year and is a member of the school's 1,000-point club.Â
"E'Niyah is an elite-level talent whose greatest strength lies in her ability to shoot the ball," said Coach Franklin. "She competes with a contagious energy that few can match. As a coach's kid, she has an exceptional understanding and feel for the game. We're thrilled to welcome E'Niyah to our Cardinal family."
Jordan Pete - 5'6 - G - San Antonio, Texas (Sotomayor HS)
Pete is currently a Wildcat at Sotomayor High School in San Antonio. Throughout her high school career, she has been a three-time first-team all-district selection, two-time San Antonio ISD tournament team member, and two-time TGCA All-State recipient.Â
Named Offensive MVP in her junior season, she eclipsed the 1,500-point milestone and has guided her team to 77 wins and two district championships. Pete will be majoring in engineering while at LU.Â
"JP is an exceptionally talented guard who truly loves the game of basketball," said Coach Franklin. "Her natural feel for the game and relentless work ethic make her the player she is today. She is the quintessential Lamar guard. With over 1,500 points scored in her high school career so far, Jordan's ability to create for herself and for her teammates will bring tremendous depth to our guard position."
Kyndall Roberts - 5'3 - G - Houston, Texas (C.E. King HS)
Roberts will spend her senior season with the C.E. King Panthers in Houston after transferring from Aldine Nimitz. During her sophomore year at Nimitz, she averaged 16.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game while helping the Cougars to a 25-7 record and a 13-1 district mark. She was also voted as Vype Magazine's Female Athlete of the Year for Aldine ISD.Â
"Kyndall is a very savvy point guard," said Coach Franklin. "A true leader on the floor, she is a downhill guard who can stretch the floor with her shooting ability. She's got great game awareness, and defensively, she is as hard-nosed as they come. We have been in love with Kyndall as a player and person since ninth grade."
