Cardinals Travel to Arkansas for Three

| By:
BEAUMONT, Texas – The Lamar University men's tennis team travels to Arkansas for three matches against two different opponents beginning Saturday. The Cardinals open the road trip Saturday with a doubleheader at Arkansas-Fort Smith followed by a Sunday evening match against University of Arkansas.

The Cardinals are 2-2 (.500) on the season and are coming off a doubleheader sweep against Alcorn State in their home opener. Lamar outscored the Braves, 9-2, in the two matches with a shutout.

LU enters the weekend with a small advantage over UAFS as Saturday serves as the season opener for the Lions. UAFS is looking to improve on a tough 2024 season that saw the Lions finish 3-13 overall and 2-6 (.250) in conference play.  Saturday's first match is slated for a 10 a.m. start followed by the afternoon session at 2 p.m.

The Razorbacks have jumped out of the gates quickly this season with a 5-2 (.714) record in their seven matches and are coming off a two-point victory over Rice. It will be a busy weekend for the Razorbacks as well as they will take on Nebraska (Friday) and Wichita State (Sunday morning) before hosting the Cards. Sunday's match is set for a 5 p.m. start from the Billingsley Tennis Center.
