Hardin, Lindh, and Schneider Jerez Named Cobalt All-America Scholars

| By:
NORMAN, Okla. - Three members of the Lamar University men's golf team were selected as members of the 2023-24 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars for NCAA Division I. Earning recognition for this honor were Carl Hardin, Jacob Lindh, and David Schneider Jerez.

Hardin, Lindh, and Schneider Jerez were among 531 DI athletes selected from 180 schools. To qualify for this honor, they had to have been a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in any NCAA level, participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average below 76.9 and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.2. In addition, they must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their institution.

Hardin (Loddekopinge, Sweden) had a 3.29 GPA in finance. This past season saw him post a stroke average of 71.9 in 33 rounds, which included a season low of 67 at the USF Invitational. Posting 17 rounds of par or better, he had three top 10 finishes, including fourth at the Southland Conference Championship (72-68-76=216), which also earned him first team all-conference honors for the second year in a row.

Lindh (Skanor, Sweden) finished his senior year with a 3.94 GPA in industrial engineering. With a stroke average of 73.5 in 33 rounds, he had four rounds of par or better including his career-low of 65 at the USF Invitational, which was also where he had his best finish of 17th (74-65-75=214). Lindh finished in the top 20 twice and placed tied for 32nd at the SLC Championship (76-75-78).

Schneider Jerez (Fuengirola, Spain) put together a 3.68 GPA in finance. This past season saw him record a stroke average of 72.8 and had 10 rounds of par or better. Twice did he shoot his lowest round of 66 with one of them being instrumental in helping him claim a co-championship at the Graeme McDowell Invitational (70-70-66=206). That performance not only was the lowest 54-hole score for him this season, but was also warranted in having the SLC recognize him as the golfer of the month for September. He placed in the top 10 three times and was seventh in the SLC Championship (71-72-75=218).
