BEAUMONT, Texas – Due to the expected rain in the New Orleans area Thursday evening, Lamar University and New Orleans have agreed to move the start of the series to a 2 p.m. Thursday doubleheader.
The series, which was originally slated to run through Saturday, will now wrap up Friday with a tentative start time of 1 p.m., but that time may change depending on the weather.
The series with UNO has huge title implications. Both teams remain in the title hunt with Lamar (39-12/15-6 SLC) taking a 1.0-game lead into the final series. The Privateers (29-22/13-8 SLC) are currently third in the conference standings just 2.0 games back of Big Red. The two teams are separated by only Nicholls.
