BEAUMONT, Texas —
Jack Dallas, Lamar baseball's all-time leader in saves, will be one of eight prospects from the Philadelphia Phillies organization to play in the Arizona Fall League.
He and the other prospects will suit up for the Surprise Saguaros when the league begins Oct. 6.
The Arizona Fall League runs until Nov. 12 as it consists of 30 regular season games and six teams.
Dallas finished the season with the Double-A Reading Fightin Phils, posting a 3.47 ERA in 31 appearances, 49.1 innings pitched and three starts.
This was his fourth season in the minors since breaking onto the scene in 2022 with the Single-A Clearwater Threshers.
During the four seasons, Dallas has accumulated a 15-7 record with a 2.66 ERA in 120 games and six starts with 187 strikeouts in 179.1 innings of work.
His best seasons came with the High-A Jersey Shore BlueClaws where he went a combined 12-4.
In 2024, he went 5-2, throwing 54 innings with 55 strikeouts in 39 games with the BlueClaws.
Dallas played at Lamar University from 2018-2022 where he finished with 14 saves during the 2022 season, setting the single-season program record for the second time.
He signed as an undrafted free agent after going 4-0 in 25 appearances during the 2022 regular season with 51 strikeouts and a 1.86 ERA in 38.2 innings.
Dallas is not the only former Cardinal in the minor leagues.
Peyton Havard, who signed as an undrafted free agent with the Phillies, was assigned to the Single-A Clearwater Threshers on Sept. 3.
He made one appearance of relief, tossing one inning with two strikeouts against the New York Yankee affiliate Tampa Tarpons.
Havard posted a 7-2 record with the Cardinals in 2025 with a 2.73 ERA in 22 appearances and five starts with 79 strikeouts.
Riely Hunsaker, who was selected in the 16th round (481st overall) this past summer by the Chicago Cubs, is currently with the rookie-level Arizona Complex League squad. He was activated on Aug. 4. The Arizona Complex League runs from mid-May to late July.
A former first team All-Southland Conference selection, Hunsaker made 14 starts while finishing with a 4-3 record and a 2.47 ERA with 70 strikeouts in 76.2 innings pitched.
Hunsaker isn't the only former Cardinal hurler in the Cubs organization.
Brooks Caple split time between the Single-A Myrtle Beach Pelicans and High-A South Bend Cubs.
Caple tallied 74 strikeouts this season while posting a 4.48 ERA in 21 starts and 98.1 innings pitched.
He earned the promotion after going 3-1 in Myrtle Beach with a 1.80 ERA in seven starts and 35 innings of work with 30 strikeouts.
