Men’s Tennis Travels to A&M, Hosts North Dakota

BEAUMONT, Texas – The Lamar University men's tennis team has two matches on the docket beginning with a trip to College Station, Texas Sunday to face No. 10 Texas A&M before returning home for a non-conference matchup against North Dakota.
 
The Aggies will be the third top 25 opponent for Lamar (5-8) this season, and the second top-10 opponent. The Cardinals are coming off a 5-2 road win over Jackson State and have won three of their previous five matches.
 
The Aggies are 11-3 (.786) on the season and have won consecutive matches and four of their previous five. Texas A&M will face Mississippi in SEC play before stepping on the court with Lamar.
 
The series between Lamar and Texas A&M dates back to the 1968 season but is one that has seen the Aggies win 25 of the 27 all-time meetings. Lamar is going in search of its first victory over A&M since the 1976 season and their first win in College Station.
 
North Dakota has had a tough start to the season posting a 3-12 record. UND has dropped three straight and seven of their last eight. North Dakota will face Oral Roberts Sunday before traveling to Beaumont for the Tuesday match (1 p.m.), which will be the first meeting in series history.
