Cardinals Fall to Aggies

| By:
Box Score COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Lamar University men's tennis team is in the midst of arguably its toughest three-match stretch of the season – three matches in four days – which includes two home matches and today's road contest at No. 28 Texas A&M. Big Red fought hard but came up short to the Aggies, 5-0.

The Aggies took the doubles point after picking up wins on courts 1 and 2 singles. The match on court one was decided by a mere two games, which was fortunate for the Aggies as LU had the upper hand on court three, 6-5, when the match was halted.

Texas A&M held the momentum gained from singles winning the opening set on five of the six courts. Freshman Daniel Sancho Arbizu snagged a 7-5 victory over A&M's Stefan Storch at No. 1, but Arbizu's match was halted before it could be finished due to Texas A&M recording singles wins on courts 2, 6, 4 and 3, respectively.

The Cardinals return home Sunday to close out the tough three-match set against UT Arlington. The match against the Mavericks is slated to begin at 11 a.m. from the Thompson Family Tennis Center.
