BEAUMONT, Texas – Lamar University's fall season finale has been trimmed from a three-day event down to two days due to expected inclement weather in Huntsville, Texas Friday. Big Red will officially close the fall schedule at the Sam Houston Invitational now beginning Saturday. The tournament, which originally set to open Friday morning, will now kick off Saturday at 9 a.m.
 
It has been a busy fall schedule for the Red and White who will be closing the season with their fifth tournament. The individual format tournament will run through Sunday and will consist of host Sam Houston, Northwestern State, UTSA, LU and Tyler Junior College.
 
Following the fall tournament, the Cardinals will take a couple months off to prepare for the spring season. Big Red will start the spring with three matches in three days. The Cards will open against DePaul on Jan. 20^th, followed by Rice (Jan. 21^st) and Sam Houston (Jan. 22).
