BEAUMONT, Texas – The Lamar University women's tennis team will send three players to Lake Charles, La., Friday to compete in the Southland Conference Individual Championships hosted by McNeese. The individual championship tournament will begin Friday and run through Sunday with each league school sending its top singles player and doubles team.
 
The LU women are sending junior Arina Gudovskaya (singles) and senior Martina Alcaino and Jevrosima Mitic (doubles).
 
The brackets have been released with the duo of Alcaino and Mitic receiving the Southland's No. 5 overall seed. They will be pitted against the fourth-seeded duo from Southeastern Louisiana of Kennedy Hutto and Mariam Tetradze. The match is set for a 2:30 p.m. start.
 
Gudovskaya – the league's No. 2 overall seed – will take to the court before the doubles matches are slated to get under way. Gudovskaya will also open against a player from Southeastern Louisiana, Maro Makaskvili. The singles match is set for a 10:30 a.m. start.
