BEAUMONT, Texas - While the men's golf team is set to begin their spring semester, they continue to add new members to the program as they welcome in newcomer David Schneider Jerez.

Jessie Mudd. "He's a fantastic young player with a ton of upside. Â He will be a great fit in our lineup"
Originally from Mijas, Malaga, Spain, Schneider Jerez spent his high school tenure at Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tenn. While there, he led the golf team to back-to-back Division II-AA state championships, where they set a new TSSAA 36-hole record in the latter year.

Individually, he finished first in the Regional Championship in 2020 while placing tied for second in the 2021 state championships. Elsewhere, Schneider was a member of the Spanish Interstate U-18 team that finished as the runner up in the 2019 national championships.

Off the course, Schneider was a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. His sister Ana Schneider Jerez played tennis at Marymount University in Arlington Va., where she is currently the assistant tennis coach.
