BEAUMONT, Texas – The Lamar University men's tennis team will kick off its home schedule Friday with the start of its annual fall tournament – the Ron Wesbrooks Invitational. The three-day tournament will take place at the Thompson Family Tennis Center on the LU campus and will consist of five singles flights and two flights of doubles.
 
Matches will begin Friday at 2 p.m. with opening-round play, while Saturday and Sunday matches will get under way at 9 a.m. In addition to tournament-host LU Nicholls, UT Arlington, UTSA and Tyler Junior College will also be competing in the individual format tournament. Results will be loaded onto www.LamarCardinals.com at the end of each day.
 
For the Cardinals, the home tournament will be the final tune-up before the ITA Regional Championships in Waco later this month. The four-tournament fall season will conclude Monday, Oct. 28^th in Waco. Big Red kicks off the spring season Friday, Jan. 17^th against Bryant in Stillwater, Okla.
