FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Lamar University Cardinals continued their season-long five-match road swing Saturday against Arkansas. The match against the Razorbacks was stop No. 4 on the trip and it didn't end in LU's favor. The Cards dropped a 7-0 decision to Arkansas Saturday at the Dills Indoor Tennis Center.
Despite the final score, the matches on the individual courts were a lot closer. The Cardinals pushed three singles matches to a third set, after picking up opening set victories on courts 3 and 5. The Cardinals were also tied at No. 1 doubles before play was suspended.

Jeandre Hoogenboezem and
Nikita Lis had Arkansas' Mike Redlicki and Jose Salazar locked in a close match at No. 1 doubles. The match was knotted up at 4, when play was halted. Arkansas put an end to the doubles competition with victories at the Nos. 3 and 2 positions, respectively, to take the point.
The Razorbacks carried the momentum from doubles into the start of singles play. It was the bottom of the Razorbacks lineup that that added to the lead. Juan Marino got a tough battle from junior
Logan Powell in the opening set at No. 6 singles. Marino escaped the set with a 6-4 victory. The opening set victory gave Marino all the momentum in the second set as he picked up a 6-0 decision.
Arkansas' Oscar Mesquida put the hosts within a point of the overall victory with his straight-set victory at No. 4 singles. The nation's No. 6-ranked player – Mike Redlicki – locked up the team victory with his 6-4, 6-4, victory over senior
Michael Feucht at No. 1 singles.
Arkansas closed out the day with victories on courts 3, 2 and 5 respectively.
The Cardinals return to action Sunday when they travel to Tulsa, Okla., to take on Oral Roberts. The match against the Golden Eagles will start at 9 a.m.
