Kummer enters the 2015 exhibition looking to even up the overall record after the Anderson-led Red team got the upper hand last season. The 2014 scrimmage was a thriller that came down to the final seconds, but the game didn't start out that way. The Red team jumped out to a 15-0 lead and pushed its advantage to 26 points before the White started to chip away at the deficit in the second half.
The White team shot a blistering 70 percent from the field in the second half, and had six players end the night in double figures. LU's White squad took their first lead of the game with 15 seconds remaining but the advantage would last only 14 seconds. The Red team got a tip-in with one second on the clock to win the game.
The scrimmage will give fans their first look at the 2015-16 Cardinals. Big Red finished last season off with a 15-15 record, and a 9-9 mark in Southland Conference play. More than doubling its win total from the previous two seasons combined, LU was recognized as recording one of the nation's largest single-season turnarounds. The Cardinals enter the new season picked fifth in a preseason poll of the league head coaches.
The 2015-16 regular-season opener is slated for Friday, Nov. 13 against Austin College. The game against the Roos will tip off at 7 p.m. from the Montagne Center.
