Results

BEAUMONT - The Lamar University men's tennis team collected their second straight win on Thursday, blasting Centenary 7-0 at the Cardinal Courts.

The Cardinals began the sweep by rolling through doubles play, losing just two games along the way. At No. 1 double Maciej Bogusz and Tobias Schnieder handed Evan Magill and Jacob Dawson an 8-0 loss, while Richard Filkuka and Marton Horvath posted an 8-1 win over Seva Kostelanetz and Jules Bourgon at No. 2. The match at No. 3 was also an 8-1 victory for Lamar, as Mario Janjic and Diego Snyder defeated John Reeks and John Callen.

In singles play the Cards wasted little time in dismissing the Gents, as Snyder and Horvath won their respective matches in 6-0, 6-0. Horvath took down Kostelanetz at No. 4 and Snyder won at No. 6 over Reeks.

Bogusz and Filkuka each dropped just one game in their matches, as Bogusz defeated Bourgon 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2, while Filkuka took out Callen 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5. At No. 1 singles Janjic defeated Margill 6-1, 6-3 and in the match at No. 3 Schnieder beat Dawson 6-1, 6-2.

The Cardinals, who improve to 4-2 on the year with the win, will be back in action on Friday, February 20 when they take on the University of Texas in Austin, Texas.
