LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Rashad Reed made a running floater with 0:00.2 seconds left as Indiana State stunned Lamar, 68-66, on the second day of the Marques Maybin Classic at Freedom Hall Sunday.

Lamar led 62-54 with 7:10 to play before ISU cut the deficit to 62-61 at the 3:33 mark. Jay Brown put the Cardinals up three with two free throws before the Sycamores made two free throws and got a 3-pointer from Reed to go ahead 66-64 with 0:16.0 on the clock.

On the ensuing possession, Kenny Dawkins drew a foul in the lane and made both free throws to tie the game at 66 with 9.2 seconds left. Reed drove from 22 feet at the top of the key into the left side of the lane where he made the game winner. Tristan Worrell's inbounds pass was deflected and time ran out. ISU ended the game on a 14-4 run.

Brown led Lamar (6-2) with 16 points, right rebounds, three blocks and two steals. Dawkins had 13 points but struggled from the floor, shooting 4-of-16 and 1-of-9 from outside.

The Cardinals shot 38 percent from the field and just 18 percent from 3-point range. LU was perfect from the free throw line, making all 18 attempts while extending its streak of consecutive makes to 30.

Lamar's struggles were magnified during the final 9:30 when they made just one field goal while misfiring on nine.

Lamar struggled for much of the opening half, managing just two points through the first six minutes on an Ashton Hall jumper as Indiana State led 9-2. The Cardinals responded with a 7-0 run to tie it at 9-9 on a 3-pointer by Skyler Williams. The teams traded scores and then the Sycamores used a 7-0 run of their own to take a 19-13 lead with 8:12 to play.

Dawkins gave Lamar its first lead since the opening minute at 28-27 on a fast-break layup at the 4:29 mark. The teams traded field goals again before a pair of Brandon McThay free throws and a Williams triple gave the Cards their largest lead of the period, 35-31 with 2:31 remaining. ISU closed the half on a 9-5 run to tie the game at 40-40 going into the break.

ISU made 9-of-18 from behind the arc, including 6-of-7 in the first half. ISU (1-6) was led by Reed's 15 points and three 3-pointers. Aaron Carter added 15 points, while Jay Tunnell had 12 points and nine boards.

Lamar will face No. 11 Louisville (4-1) on Monday night at 7:00 p.m. Eastern time. The game with U of L will be televised throughout Kentucky and is available nationally to ESPN Full Court subscribers and globally on ESPN360.com.
