Ben Rivers Joins LU Hoops Staff

| By:
BEAUMONT, Texas – Ben Rivers has been named Lamar University video coordinator announced head coach Jordan Fee Thursday. Rivers becomes Fee's fifth hire since taking over the program in March.

"We are excited to welcome Ben Rivers to our staff," said Fee. "His experience in programs known for their strong culture at both Cleveland State and North Texas will further help build the experience on this already great staff. His mind for basketball, an advanced scouting and video skill set, along with his relentless work ethic make Ben the right guy for the job. Please join me in welcoming Ben to Beaumont."

Rivers comes to the Golden Triangle after having spent the previous season in Denton serving as a recruiting analyst for the Mean Green. In addition to his in-depth film analysis focused on player evaluation and scouting, he also served on a staff that recorded the most regular-season wins in 50 years by a first-year staff. UNT also produced the most wins (18) by a first-year staff in 32 years. He also played a key role in helping the Mean Green secure the acquisition of Spain's Ousmane Ndour.

Rivers made the move to Denton following two seasons at Cleveland State where he served as a graduated assistant coach. During his brief time in Ohio, Rivers assisted the Vikings to two 20-win seasons which included back-to-back conference tournament semifinal appearances and College Basketball Invitational tournament appearances.
