Cardinals Prepped for Cowboy Jamboree

BEAUMONT, Texas – Lamar University's cross country teams are set to resume their season as they head to Stillwater, Okla., Saturday for the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree. The meet will be held at the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course.

The Cardinals last competed at the Texas A&M Invitational, where both teams placed in the top 10. The men's team scored 147 points to place sixth. Adrian Hahn Vadstein (23rd; 25:12.3) and Guillaume Dupre (25th; 25:19.1) crossed the line in the top 25 to lead Big Red. The women totaled 213 points to finish eighth, with Ashton Rainey (6th, 17:27.9) leading the Cardinals and recording the team's lone top-10 finish.

The Cardinals will be one of 24 schools competing, along with OSU, Abilene Christian, Adams State, BYU, Central Arkansas, East Texas A&M, Eastern New Mexico, Haskell, Louisiana Christian, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Odessa College, Oklahoma, Oklahoma Baptist, Oral Roberts, Oregon, SMU, Stephen F. Austin, Tarleton State, Texas A&M-Texarkana, TCU, Tulsa and UT Dallas.

The women's 6,000-meter run will commence at 8:15 a.m., while the men will follow with their 8K meet at 8:50 a.m.
