Travis Lutz was named to the 2026 Academic All-America Baseball team, the College Sports Communicators announced Tuesday.
Lutz, who maintained a 4.0 GPA while pursuing a master's degree in business administration, earned third-team Academic All-America honors.
He also was one of five Cardinals to be named to the Southland Conference All-Academic team.
Lutz becomes the first LU baseball player to be recognized by the College Sports Communicators since Jordan Foster in 2004.
On the field, Lutz ranked second on the team with 68 strikeouts in 60.2 innings across 16 appearances, including nine starts.
He finished the season 4-3 with a 3.26 ERA and two saves.
Lutz was named Southland Conference Newcomer of the Year and earned second-team All-Southland Conference honors, becoming the first Cardinal to receive the newcomer award since 2013.
He also was selected to the Southland Conference All-Tournament team after striking out 10 batters over seven innings in Game 1 of the championship series against McNeese.
During the postseason, Lutz recorded 18 strikeouts in 15.1 innings.
