FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -
Krystan Bright and
Ethan Ellis placed second and third in their 400-meter hurdles events as Lamar University concluded the John McDonnell Invitational with 15 top-10 finishes Friday at Arkansas.
Bright ran a personal-best time of 59.54 seconds in the women's circuit and was off by just a second to the overall winner, Kansas' Sidney Smith. Ellis (52.09) pulled out a third place finish by edging out fourth place by seven hundredths of a second.
Ke'Asia Hall had the highest finish of all LU field athletes when she earned second in the triple jump with her third attempt going 12.27m (40-3.25).
Kenson Tate landed in fourth in the men's long jump (7.35m/24-1.5) while
Ashton Rainey was a fifth place finisher in the 1,500 meters by clocking in at 4:33.40.
LU's second meet of the weekend is the J. Fred Duckett Invitational hosted by Rice, which will take place Saturday. The men's hammer and women's javelin will be the first events to take place at 10 a.m. while the track circuit begins at 2:30 p.m. with the women's 100-meter hurdles.
