Cardinals Look to Bounce Back with Home Doubleheader

| By:
BEAUMONT, Texas – After dropping consecutive matches for the first time this season, the Lamar University women's tennis team returns home to host Dillard University in a doubleheader Saturday. It will the second scheduled doubleheader this season that takes place at the same time as a men's doubleheader.

The Cardinals (4-3/.571) faced a tough two-match road swing that saw them make stops at Arkansas State and Southern Mississippi. Big Red will look to get back in the win column Saturday.

If history is any indicator, Saturday should bode well for the Red and White. The last time Lamar hosted a scheduled doubleheader with the LU men, Lamar recorded a sweep on the women's side.

The Lady Bleu Devils are 0-2 on the young season dropping matches at Southland-foe New Orleans and one against LSU-Alexandria. Saturday's match will be the first for Dillard in 10 days. The Cardinals are 1-0 all-time against the Lady Bleu Devils recording a 7-0 victory during the 2023 season.

The first match is set for a 10 a.m. start with the second slated for 2 p.m. Both matches will take place at the Thompson Family Tennis Center.
