Box Score JONESBORO, Ark. – Lamar University's four-match win streak came to an end Saturday with a 4-0 loss at Arkansas State. The Cardinals (4-2) suffered their first loss since the regular-season opener at Rice.

Unfortunately, the Red Wolves jumped out a quick start in doubles taking leads on all three courts picking up wins on courts 1 and 3 for the point. With the point in hand, the match at line 2 was halted.

Arkansas State did not take its foot off the gas in the transition to singles. The Red Wolves snagged straight-set wins on courts 2 and 3, respectively to take a commanding 3-0 lead. ASU managed to finish off the match with a straight-sets victory at No. 1 doubles. The two teams agreed prior to the match to stop any remaining matches when the fourth and final point was won.

The Cardinals will look to get back in the win column Monday when they travel to Hattiesburg, Miss., to take on Southern Mississippi. The match against the Golden Eagles is scheduled for an 11 a.m. start.
