Cross Country Set to Start 2025 Season at Northwestern State

BEAUMONT, Texas - Lamar's men's and women's cross country teams are ready to open their 2025 season Friday as they will head to Natchitoches, La. to compete in Northwestern State's Pre-SLC Cross Country Meet. The event will take place at the Walter P. Ledet Track Complex. 
 
Along with NSU, the Cardinals are one of five teams to compete. Also taking part are fellow SLC schools McNeese, Stephen F. Austin, and non-conference opponent Louisiana Tech.
 
The reigning two-time Southland Conference champion women's team enters this season with seven returners. Ashton Rainey headlines this group after helping the Cardinals to the conference title a year ago while also making an appearance at the NCAA South Central Regionals. Also returning for the women are Claire Bibb, Eleana Campos, Anna Eischen, Bianka Paciorek, Lauren Polk, and Hannah Roberts.
 
The men are returning 12 members to the squad, including Riley Trent, Adrian Hahn Vadstein, Alexis Rodriguez, Andres Padron, and Treyton Showen, who each ran in last year's conference title meet. Also returning are Kenny Bibb, Geovany Cisneros, Dominick Luna, Luke Parker, Aaron Saenz, Ryan Servantes, Alejandro Villalva, and Beau Waldrop
 
The women's 4K meet will start at 6:15 p.m., while the men will follow with the 6K race at 6:45 p.m.
