FRISCO, Texas – Lamar University rising junior Stefano Chappuis has been named 2025 Academic All-Southland Conference announced league officials Monday morning. The Lima, Peru native was named to the league's second team.
 
One of just 16 student-athletes to receive the honor, tennis players must achieve and maintain a 3.25 grade-point average, have completed at least one full semester at the nominating institution in the season in which the nomination occurs and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's matches in the singles and/or doubles ladder position listed on the form.
 
Chappuis led the Cardinals in singles wins this season posting a 13-5 (.722) overall record heading into the post season. He played Nos. 3-6 singles with eight of his wins coming at Nos. 4 and 5 singles, including a 4-2 record at fifth position. Chappuis caught fire at the end of the season winning seven of his final nine matches to close out the year. He also posted a 3-3 (.500) record in doubles competition.
