FRISCO, Texas – Lamar University will open the 2025 Southland Conference Championships as the No. 7 overall seed announced league officials. The Cardinals will open against second-seeded NJIT Thursday at 2 p.m. All tournament matches will be hosted by Nicholls State University from Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex.
 
Lamar (14-12/1-4 SLC) defeated Nicholls on the final day of the tournament to leapfrog the Colonels in the standings.
 
Should Lamar get past NJIT, they will face the winner of the No. 3 Bryant vs. No. 6 UIW match. The other half of the bracket will see No. 5 UT Rio Grande Valley take on New Orleans and top-seeded Texas A&M-Corpus Christi take on No. 8 Nicholls. The championship match is slated for Saturday, April 26^th at noon.
