Lamar baseball unveils 2026 schedule

BEAUMONT, Texas — Baseball season is right around the corner, and Lamar University has unveiled its 2026 schedule featuring 52 games, including 27 at Vincent-Beck Stadium. The home slate includes games against two Big 12 opponents as well as a program that finished fifth at the College World Series last season.

The Cardinals will open the season on Friday, Feb. 13, hosting Oakland for a three-game series.

LU's home slate includes midweek matchups against Kansas (Feb. 18), Rice (March 4), Sam Houston (March 17), Tarleton State (March 24), Tulane (April 7) and BYU (April 13).

Highlighting the nonconference schedule, the Cardinals will welcome perennial powerhouse and three-time College World Series champion Oregon State for a marquee three-game series April 2–4.

On the road, LU will face UT Arlington in a three-game series (Feb. 21–22) and play midweek contests at Texas (Feb. 17), Texas A&M (Feb. 24), Louisiana Tech (March 10), Sam Houston (March 18), TCU (March 31), South Alabama (April 22) and Rice (April 28).

Southland Conference play begins at home with a three-game series against UT Rio Grande Valley (Feb. 27–March 1).

Other home conference matchups include McNeese (March 13–15), Incarnate Word (March 27–29), Northwestern State (April 17–19) and Southeastern Louisiana (May 1–3).

The Cardinals enter 2026 under 10th year head coach Will Davis following back-to-back 40-win seasons for the first time since 2003–2004, finishing 2025 with a 40–17 overall record and impressive 27-2 home record.
