BEAUMONT, Texas – The Lamar University women's tennis team will close out the fall portion of it schedule with a three-day tournament in Hammond, La., beginning Friday. The SLU Invitational – also known as the George E. Fourmaux Invitational – will run through Sunday.
 
The last of five fall tournaments for the Red and White, will consist of five teams. The tournament field includes host Southeastern Louisiana, LU, LSU-Alexandria, Louisiana Christian and Dillard.
 
The George E. Fourmaux Fed Cup Invitational is a break from the tradition fall tournaments as each school will take on a team in an abbreviated match instead of the individual formatted tournaments. Play is set to begin Friday at 1 p.m., but the Cardinals won't take to the court until 5 p.m. (vs. Dillard).
 
The Cardinals will face tournament-host Southeastern Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by LSU-Alexandria at 11 a.m. Big Red will close out the tournament Sunday against Louisiana Christian (9a.m.).
