BEAUMONT, Texas – Lamar University closed out the 2025 Joe Pyburn Memorial Invitational in doubles the same way it opened the tournament, producing strong results. The Cardinals ended the tournament going a perfect 3-0 in doubles competition.

Asta Miettinen defeated Elena Morales Dorantes and Naomi Hagi from rival McNeese, 6-4, in Flight B, while junior
Martina Alcaino and freshman Vavara Popadina had dispensed of Southeastern Louisiana's Mariam Makashvili and Panatchakorn Suanarsa in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1.
The Cardinals close out the 2025 fall schedule Friday, Nov. 7, when they travel to Hammond, La., to compete in the Southeastern Louisiana Fall Invitational. The three-day event will run from Friday, Nov. 7 through Sunday, Nov. 9.
