BEAUMONT, Texas – The Lamar University women's tennis team returns to action Friday with their annual home fall tournament – the Joe Pyburn Memorial. The tournament will be a six-team field consisting of Lamar, McNeese, Southeastern Louisiana, Northwestern State, Louisiana Tech and LSU-Alexandria.
 
The three-day tournament is set to begin Friday at 3 p.m. with doubles set to kick off Saturday morning at 9 a.m. The championship round will take place Sunday at 9 a.m. All matches will be played at the Thompson Family Tennis Center, which will be the first competition to take place at the Cardinals' home venue since the completion of the light renovation.
 
Brackets will be finalized Friday morning.
 
The Joe Pyburn Memorial will serve as the Cardinals next to last fall tournament before turning their focus to the spring schedule.
