BEAUMONT, Texas - The 2024-25 athletic year kicks off for Lamar University on Tuesday as Lamar Soccer takes on Blinn College in an exhibition match at the LU Soccer Complex. The back-to-back Southland Conference champs kick things off at 7 pm and admission is free.
17 members from the 2023 squad that went 15-3-3 return to the pitch for this season. Leading the way is two-time SLC Defender of the Year
Arely Alaniz, SLC Midfielder of the Year
Alana Clark, first teamer
Isela Ramirez, and second teamers
Caragan Childs and
Trinity Clark. The Cardinals are also adding 18 newcomers with eight transfers and 10 freshmen to the squad.
This game will be the first of two warm-ups for the Cardinals, who will follow with their annual Red-White scrimmage this Saturday night at 7 pm. In addition, fans can have an opportunity to buy tickets for LU's first regular season home game against Texas A&M next Thursday night by grabbing an Olympic Sports Pass.
